Water Systems Installations
Tororo District: The construction of OWORI Memorial WASH project in Merikit Sub county, Tororo District.
The project entailed the installation of production wells, equipped with solar-powered pumping systems, to extract water and store it in a central reservoir with a capacity of 108,000 liters. Piped water is being distributed through four community stand taps, each equipped with four outlets. Additionally, a water kiosk has been constructed at the Merikit Market, and a total of 13 units of 8-stance double-sided drainable toilets have been built at the trading center and six institutions within Merikit Subcounty. Furthermore, a comprehensive piped water system has been established to serve the entirety of Merikit Subcounty. To ensure the effective operation and maintenance of the water infrastructure, water-users committees have been established and provided with training and maintenance toolkits.
Kitgum District: The Construction of Namokora, Lagoro and Mucwini Water and Sanitation Facilities in Kitgum District
The project involved the installation of transmission lines spanning a distance of 3 kilometers, as well as distribution lines covering over 18 kilometers. Additionally, a service line extending over 25 kilometers was established. The project also included the construction of three water tank reservoirs with capacities of 70 cubic meters, 70 cubic meters, and 50 cubic meters respectively. Electromechanical components such as submersible pumps, wiring, and generators were installed. Furthermore, a power extension of 1 kilometer was carried out, along with the construction of a water office, generator/pump house, and guard house. The implementation of the project involved the installation of over 30 public tap stands, as well as the connection of over 300 yards to the water supply network. Finally, the provision of tools and equipment required for the project was ensured.
Pader District: Construction of Piped Water Scheme in Porogali Trading Centre - Pader District
The project entailed the rehabilitation of transmission lines spanning a distance of 0.5 kilometers, as well as the distribution lines covering 1.8 kilometers. Additionally, a service line extending over 0.6 kilometers was restored. A 50 cubic meter pressed steel water tank reservoir was also rehabilitated. Electromechanical components, including submersible pumps, wiring, and a pump house/guard house, were upgraded as part of the project. Furthermore, eight public tap stands were refurbished. The project also involved the supply of necessary tools and equipment to support the rehabilitation process.
